More especially don't go because the Tower Bridge one is now shut for business like the one in Peckham.

Glad to see the quality places like Goddards are still going strong.
The market's clearly still there at the right price. Probably a good business opportunity for someone in the right frame of mind to give it a go.

Can confirm Maureen's in Chrisp Street is still open, at least it was in April when I last went there.
Until about 5 years ago the worst pie n mash I'd ever had was at Debden Broadway. I then stumbled across a P+M shop in Worcester Park (near Epsom) of all places. Pies tasted like cardboard.

Manze's TBR isn't closing
As said, Cookes over Hoxton is good as anywhere if staying more central

Yeh, was in Maureen's at chrisp st a few months back as well. Proper pie mash in there. Double check that it's still open. Worth a visit if it is. Robins do good pie mash but they're getting further out.

Personal preference init. It's a good filling meal, pretty perfect for pre beering, and reminds me of living in London. Plus the people I'm with want me to take them to one as they've never had it. Since all the ones I used to go to have been shut down I thought I'd ask on here which ones are still open. Supporting West Ham has nothing to do with it.
I also like kebabs. Nothing to do with going to Turkey once.

Can't quite remember when I was there, thinking of around September last year, was lunch time mid week and it was definitely closed and looked like it had been for a while. Maybe just being done up. Either way, dunno if Chrisp St is the sort of place you wanna be shown round on a day trip to the smog!

Rossal. Yeh. On the front. East India Dock rd. That's the one I mean. Was in there with a mate a while back (that's his local one). Was proper pie mash. Thought that was maureens for some reason.
Kelly's was always the best years ago, gone a bit downhill last time was in there. Robins one of the best now but have gone further East. (Chingford/Wanstead/Romford/Basildon/Southend)

Yeh. I meant the other one on the front. East India dock rd. Popped in there quick with a mate. Didn't take much notice of name at the time, just thought it was called maureens for some reason.

Shame pie mash is dying off a bit. Can always eat it though. Fancy it now and again and enjoy it more then.
Mashed - the Cookes in Hoxton street is half decent.
(The one in Broadway market was becoming hipster-fied a year or so ago). Give that a swerve.
